Jelika Lite – Full-Stack Neurotechnology Platform for Autism Intervention
Role: Chief of Software Engineering / Full-Stack Developer
Tech: Flutter, React, Node.js, SQL/RDS, BLE/IoT Integration, HIPAA-Aligned Infrastructure, AI/ML Pipelines
Overview:
Jelika Lite is a neurotechnology company developing a breakthrough therapeutic device that uses near-infrared light to support children with autism. As Chief of Software Engineering, I led the full architecture, development, and deployment of the software ecosystem powering the device, including the mobile application, clinician dashboard, parent portal, and secure backend infrastructure. My work enabled real-time device interaction, clinical data collection, treatment session management, and longitudinal progress tracking.
My Contributions
1. Full Mobile Application (Flutter)
I architected and built the cross-platform mobile app used by caregivers and clinicians to run treatment sessions.
• Implemented Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication with the therapeutic device
• Developed session controls, real-time monitoring, and dosage management
• Built onboarding flows, assessments, scheduling, reminders, and treatment history
• Ensured reliability even in low-connectivity environments
2. Clinician Dashboard (React)
I created the web portal clinicians use to review patient progress and adjust treatment plans.
• Data visualization for longitudinal outcomes, session adherence, and device readings
• Secure role-based access for clinicians, researchers, and administrators
• Configurable protocols and remote treatment adjustments
• Real-time syncing between mobile and dashboard environments
3. Backend Architecture (Node.js + Supabase/Postgres)
I designed and implemented the entire backend powering the ecosystem.
• Encrypted data ingestion from mobile devices
• Secure user identity, role management, and HIPAA-aligned permissioning
• Automated data pipelines for device metrics and treatment results
• APIs for clinician dashboards, reporting, and analytics
4. IoT / Medical Device Integration
I built the communication layer between the software and Jelika Lite’s wearable therapeutic device.
• BLE device pairing and authentication
• Real-time device commands and telemetry reading
• Safety guards, error handling, and fail-safes required for medical usage
• Session-level logging for regulatory compliance
5. AI & Data Processing Pipelines
I implemented data structures and pipelines enabling machine learning models to analyze treatment outcomes.
• Cleaned, validated, and structured device data for modeling
• Built endpoints for predictive scoring and risk profile analysis
• Integrated early-stage tools for personalized treatment tuning
6. Security, Compliance & Infrastructure
I built the infrastructure with strong protections around medical data.
• HIPAA-aligned storage and encryption practices
• Secure authentication flows and audit logging
• CI/CD deployment, environment isolation, and monitoring
• Production-grade reliability for clinical field use
Impact
My full-stack engineering work allowed Jelika Lite to progress from an early concept to a functioning, scalable medical software platform capable of supporting clinical trials and caregiver adoption. The system reliably connects patients, clinicians, and IoT therapeutic devices, enabling safe and trackable autism intervention sessions backed by real-time data and analytics.
